Back in March, Wallyhood published an article about Mahamed Mohamud, a FamilyWorks and Wallingford Boys & Girls Club volunteer who tragically drowned last summer in Green Lake (Seattle Times article, Kiro 7 article). Earlier this year, Mahamed’s mother, who still is an employee at FamilyWorks, worked with Lincoln High School staff, the Alliance for Education, and a group of community members to establish a scholarship in Mahamed’s name for graduating seniors at Lincoln.
