Just in time for the holidays: the Good Shepherd Center Artists Open Studios and Sale features six artists showing—and selling!—their work. The 5th floor walk-up at Good Shepherd (with an amazing view) will be open 12 – 3pm on all Saturdays through December 17th—except Saturday, November 26th (the building will be closed during Thanksgiving weekend). The show opened on November 5, so there are still plenty of terrific items available.

I received a postcard in the mail recently announcing that the 2023 Kiddie Parade (a Seafair event which, due to the pandemic, has not been held since 2019) would take place on July 15. Surprised that this announcement would be sent out in October, 2022, I turned the card over to discover that it was, in essence, a call for help.

It has been 25 years since University House Wallingford was built on Stone Way N, just south of N 45^th (4400 Stone Way N).  It is an independent and assisted living facility where seniors have apartments and can take their meals in a dining hall. It is a part of the ERA Living chain and is associated with the UW Retirement Association. It has been a real asset to the community, hosting events open to the public in a large assembly hall.
