The Wallingford Kiddie Parade, a neighborhood tradition for over 75 years, is less than a month away. Organized by Celebrate Wallingford, the parade has been urgently seeking help which we posted about in November and February. Opportunities are still available to lend a hand, and if you plan to participate as a marcher or in other events surrounding the parade, now is the time to register: Parade Registration is OPEN! Get Ready for the 3rd Annual Wallingford Porchfest on Saturday, June 24th 12-8:30 PM!  A day of music, neighbors, food and fun.

Birthed during Covid, Porchfest was designed to be a safe way to get bands playing live for an audience without putting anyone at risk. The Fremont Solstice Parade which, more than anything else around here, marks the start of summer, takes place this Saturday. The parade is just one of the events comprising the Fremont Fair, produced as usual by the Fremont Arts Council, which will keep you entertained all weekend.

The Wallingford Community Senior Center will be hosting another free COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Thursday, June 22. Children over age 3 can receive an initial shot series. Unfortunately, what we’ve learned over the past few years is that it is “when” not “if” you will face a new and very stressful change in your world.
