Just in time to get beautiful for the holidays, a new beauty salon has opened up in Wallingford. Jenny Beauty Salon at 4501 Interlake Avenue North offers nail, face, and lash services. It has been opened by the same owners of Excellent Nails & Spa around the corner, a popular nail salon I’ve been to many times.

A new bakery will soon be coming to town in the old Sweet Shop Space on 45th Street next to Mr. Gyros between Thackery Pl NE and Latona Ave NE. La Liath Bakery has been up and running for seven years, but it will soon be opening its first brick-and-mortar shop in the Wallingford neighborhood. Lá Liath is a British Isles bakery, focused on items popular in England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales and they are planning on having an array of sweet and savory bakery items for sale.

Historic Wallingford virtual meeting on historic district Tuesday

Historic Wallingford is hosting a public meeting to discuss the development of a National Register of Historic Places residential historic district nomination and the use of historical census data.

The meeting will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, via Zoom. Join the meeting by registering at this link or by going to the Historic Wallingford website.

During the pandemic, we have seen Free Little Libraries turned into food pantries and now our neighborhood joins others across Seattle in hosting a Seattle Community Fridge. Taking inspiration from cities like San Francisco and New York, Seattle Community Fridge places cheerfully painted refrigerators around the city.
