Representative Nicole Macri, Wallingford’s representative in the 43rd district, will be speaking at the Wallingford community council meeting tonight, May 9th. She’ll be speaking about affordable housing and ensuring livability with increased density. The community council meeting starts at 7:00 in the Good Shepherd Center, and Nicole is scheduled to speak around 7:30.

The community council meeting also includes officer elections. You must be a member in order to run for the council or vote in the elections, but the meeting is open to all, member or no. Full meeting schedule and details are below.

You can recycle these at various locations around the city. The city has compiled a list of locations that will take them for recycling. Although there are none in the neighborhood, it looks like you can take them to Ace Hardware in Maple Leaf, or the Lowe’s on Aurora.…

Ever since I Do Bridal Too moved their shop from 45th street to Greenwood in June, Wallingford brides looking to shop locally for their dresses were out of luck. But no longer. The Dress Theory is now open for wedding dress shopping at 1423 N 45th street, next to Chile Pepper restaurant. Dress Theory specializes in hand-picked designer dresses and unusual designs. They are open seven days a week, but by appointment only. …

Stone Soup’s Fall Youth Conservatory presents Lion, Witch, Wardrobe. During WWII, four children were sent to live with another family member. It was there little Lucy discovered the magic of the wardrobe. She brought her brothers and sister along into this wonderful world of Narnia. Celebrate Stone Soup Youth actors by attending one of the three performances this December.

Performances are at Wallingford Presbyterian Church, Dec 14th and 15th at 7pm, and Sat the 16th at 2pm. Tickets are pay what you will, available through Brown Paper Tickets.
