Grand Central Bakery Reopens THIS Tuesday, January 10th!

Pastry and sandwich lovers have missed this neighborhood favorite for several months as the bakery took time to recruit, hire and properly train employees so this location can be reliably open 7 full days a week, and so Wallingford customers would get the same welcoming experience and delicious food provided at the other Grand Central Bakery locations (They have 8 stores in Portland as well as bakeries in Burien, Eastlake and Wedgwood here in Seattle).

The Wallingford Boys & Girls Club is holding a Halloween Hoopla on Saturday, October 29^th from 6-9pm.

The Hoopla is a community event with activities for the whole family!  There will be carnival games, a cake walk and 2 haunted houses (one for all ages and one for older youth). On September 26, 2022, my partner-in-all-things, John W. Marshall, and I closed on the sale of
our building at 2414 N. 45th Street in Wallingford, a neighborhood where one or both of us has
had a footprint since the 1970s.

We bought what was a residential building in 1994 as a new home for our newly transformed

Mosaic Coffee  A Place to Be

I moved to Seattle from across the country, pregnant, working from home and with very few connections. I recall the distinct longing for having somewhere to just be. Wandering Wallingford, I discovered what felt like a hidden gem in Mosaic Coffee House. Of course you all had known Mosaic for years, but it was so warm and welcoming that I felt self-congratulatory in my discovery, sipping black tea and watching the neighborhood sink into seats one by one.

Wallingford Cleanup – October 1

Saturday, October 1st, join local residents, community leaders and business owners to clean the streets of Wallingford! This is the second year Wallingford resident, Colleen, has organized these efforts to keep our neighborhood tidy.
