Summer Kickoff Picnic, Thursday, June 8th from 12:00 until 2:00 pm.

Summer is almost here and it’s time to welcome the sun! Let’s meet for lunch in the pavilion on the west side of the Good
Shepherd Center and enjoy the sunshine, good food and good music. The picnic lunch is $5.00
for members of the Wallingford Community Senior Center and $7.00 for non-members.

Historic Wallingford is teaming up with Wallingford’s own Feliks Banel to do a once-a-month live radio broadcast this summer at the neighborhood Farmers Market in Meridian Park. Called The Wallingford Local, the show will be broadcast live on SPACE 101.1 FM, a people-powered, arts-focused community radio station, the last Wednesday of the month beginning May 31 from 5-6 pm. Friends Across the Wires explores the impact of the Japanese American incarceration during WWII through the lens of young people in Seattle. The play follows best friends Kiyoko and Peggy, students at Seattle’s Broadway High School, from the bombing of Pearl Harbor through the end of Kiyoko’s incarceration at Minidoka.
