I came across this great mural done by Henry at 3648 Ashworth, I think its really cool!  Sure looks better than a drab cement wall.

 

The artist, “Henry”, is Ryan Henry Ward whose art appears on various walls in Ballard, SoDo, Capitol Hill, and on a few here in Wallingford. ‘Yoroshiku’ coming to former ‘Joule’ space

Wallingford neighbor, Reeve Baily, spotted some activity in the former ‘Joule‘ space on N. 45th on Friday evening. Here’s what Reeve discovered:

Lights on, door open, tools grinding…something was going on at the former ‘Joule’ space tonight. I popped my head in and met ‘K’ one of the partners of the new venture. ‘It’s going to be Japanese…but not Sushi,’ he said. ‘Think Yakitori…’ he added with a grin. (I feel like I heard the exact same thing regarding the new place taking over the ‘Rain’ space.)

Mary is visiting during her drive from Alaska to Colorado and she writes this sad news about her traveling companion:

I am traveling through Washington from Alaska to Colorado with my dog. Last night (September 27th) between 8:20pm and 9:00pm my dog was taken from outside Kate’s Pub on 45th Ave and Latona. She is an Australian Shepherd/Husky mix around 42-50 pounds. She is brown and white and her name is Nahla. Wallingford Mom and playwright, Lauren Goldman Marshall, founded the Theatre of Possibility (TOP), an acting and creativity class for young people who have a lot to express and who want to be more effective in their relationships with peers and adults. Some may have Aspergers or ADHD, while others may be trying to figure out peer relationships. A new class session begins on October 2 (information for registration and scholarship information appear below).
