It’s that time of the year when Girl Scouts (and their parents) begin their annual cookie push. And this year, local ice cream purveyor and lifetime Girl Scout, Molly Moon, is calling out to all local Girl Scouts for her annual purchase of 84,000 Thin Mint Cookies. This Friday (January 11) after 3:00pm, if you bring your Girl Scout to Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream (1622 1/2  N. 45th St.), she and her staff will be ready to hear each enterprising young lady’s sales pitch to decide how many boxes to purchase from each scout.

New Apartments Planned for 45th/Interlake

Seattle developer Harbor Urban is planning a new mixed use/apartment building for 1321 N. 45th Street (corner of Interlake Avenue and N. 45th). Plans call for 150 apartments with ground level retail space and below grade parking for 100-140 vehicles, totaling 168,000 square feet. You can review the plans here, including design sketches.

According to the plans, the site comprises 8 tax parcels “located on the approximate eastern half of the block bounded by North 45th Street on the north, Interlake Ave North on the east and North Allen Place on the south.” This means that the two story building …

Registration Now Open for Little League

Registration for North Central Little League (NCLL) is now open for boys starting at ages 5-6 (for Tee Ball) up to Big League (ages 17-18). Girls ages 5-6 can also sign up for T-ball, and softball is offered to girls ages 7 to 14. Register online here by January 15 to avoid a late fee.

NCLL also offers a Pre-season Player Development Program which is run by Baseball Positive. They’ll have four sessions held in the Wallingford Boys & Girls Club gym to help players with primary baseball skills (hitting, fielding and pitching). The sessions are designed around age groups, …
