Of course, I-90 and Highway 520 have been open for quite some time, so we’re not talking about those bridges. And we’re not talking so much about motor vehicle traffic as we are about foot traffic. Today marks the opening day for Floating Bridge Brewing located at 722 NE 45th St. (Many readers will note that this is a space previously occupied by the notorious Fusion nightclub, and that it is adjacent to the legendary Blue Moon.) While certainly not within the Wallingford neighborhood, it’s darn close, and will be the nearest brewery for many a thirsty Wallingfordian.

Well here’s a sure sign of summer! The Wallingford Farmers Market reopens this week where it’s been for a few years now: Meridian Park. From now through late September, the Farmers Market will be open from 3:30 to 7 pm every Wednesday.

The market is run by the Seattle Farmers Market Association which also runs the Ballard and Madrona markets. I never gave much thought to how these markets pop up, but in fact, they do not just “pop up.”

I was fortunate to go shopping up at the QFC last Monday. I normally consider myself indifferent to the task and exact location of my shopping, but I ran into Max who was distributing flyers encouraging interested neighbors to attend the HALA Community Conversation taking place at the Hamilton School on Wednesday (March 30).
