The Wayward Music Series announces six graphical scores by John Teske to be performed Thursday night, September 16th, at the Good Shepherd Center.

John Teske describes his compositions as follows:

These scores are based on the idea of sound coming in and out of focus. The graphic notation provides the architecture of the piece, leaving the note-to-note details to be uniquely expressed through improvisation. Each score will be performed twice by ensembles of Seattle instrumentalists and vocalists, to explore different interpretations of the same forms.

We recently reported that the next Transfer Station Stakeholder Group Workshop was set for Sept. 14, 5pm-8pm.  This is correct.  But the address was not.

The meeting will be held at ISB’s administrative offices in Fremont (837 N. 34th Street) and NOT at the labs across from the transfer station at 1441 N. 34th Street.  The new location is near the Fremont bridge, southeast corner, just behind the JP Patches statue.

The National Football League’s preseason games are intended to test out new players, practice schemes, and get everyone conditioned for the upcoming season.  On the theory that fans need some conditioning, too, I spent a recent preseason game day checking out a few 45th street bars/restaurants to determine my own game plan for enjoying the 2010 Seahawks season.
