Remember when Hollow Earth Radio was in Wallingford? Yeah, that was cool. Even cooler is the fact that they’re bringing part of their annual MagmaFest back to Wallingford.

What is a Magma Fest? It’s a festival to support local indie musicians and to expose more people to Hollow Earth Radio’s volunteer-run, online, freeform radio. What a great combo!

Something fishy this way comes, at least if you’re down in lower Wallingford tonight.

Smell that stench? It’s not your compost bin.

Have you ever seen that television show, Deadliest Catch? Sometimes the freezers break or the engine fails or some other mishap occurs and the fish die while the boat is still at sea. Then the captain has to dock the boat so it can be fixed. Landlubbers hate that. Fishermen hate it more, of course.

Last Thursday at 7:55am, I approached the intersection of Stone Way & 35th on foot. I wanted to cross Stone Way. But there was a guy standing there are the intersection, shaking uncontrollably and unsteady on his feet. I hung back until the light changed, then passed him.

Last year, people all over the Pacific Northwest donated their time and money so Seattle could enjoy the Family 4th at Lake Union one last time. But then, it doesn’t have to be the last time. One Reel is committed to making sure the event happens every year. They just need our help to pull it off.

But we haven’t guaranteed this year’s 2011 celebratiaganza. Not yet. Donations are still essential to making the 2011 Family 4th at Lake Union possible. While almost 70 percent of the event budget has been secured, for the show to go on, another …

Sustainable Wallingford is holding a political letter writing party. Which reminds me of the last time I went to a political letter writing party. It was for Howard Dean, and I lived in South Carolina. Yeah, there were like, 3 of us. And my co-workers kept calling me a Communist.
