One year after opening the doors of their new brewery location at 3513 Stone Way N, Figurehead Brewing Company is having an anniversary party on Saturday, April 19, to celebrate the occasion. The event will be all day long, from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, and family-friendly, with free root beer floats for kids. There will also be door prizes, live music, and the release of an anniversary white stout, which is a collaboration with Spinnaker Chocolate and Caffe Appassionato, Figurehead’s future and current neighbors at each of their two locations.
The event will also be an opportunity to try out Nanking Ramen, now situated in the rear portion of the brewery’s building, in the space previously occupied by Ooshiba Yakitori & Sushi. Nanking is owned and operated by Elmer Komagata, the founder of Midnite Ramen, which is also in the Figurehead space. Nanking is open seven days a week, and differs from Midnite by focusing on shio (salt-based) ramen, and offering sushi rolls and steamed dumplings.
Over the past year I’ve stopped by Figurehead several times for a beer and a pretzel, or a bowl of ramen. The brewery is usually lively and fairly crowded, especially when the weather is nice, which the current forecast predicts. So arrive early, stay late, and celebrate the first of hopefully many years to come at Figurehead.
