A Lifelong Love of Flowers
One of the most enjoyable aspects of life in Wallingford is exploring the charm and beauty of the neighborhood businesses. One of my favorites is Cedarhouse Flowers, located at 1621 N 45th Street which is owned and operated by Parnel Lettunich, and is supported in the shop by Mandi, Willow, Carmella and Lucy.
This shop was established in 2014 and named for the cedar-sided garage where it all started. Since the shop was opened, the culture has remained the same: they make lush, unusual arrangements with heart, AND they want to do whatever it takes to make their customers happy! They are cheerfully willing to help their customers put together a colorful bouquet.
Each day, fresh flowers are placed on the outside of the shop so people can easily picture how a bouquet would look. The inside of the store as equally inviting as the displays on the outside of the shop.
Parnel first began working with flowers while attending college in Boston. In her words, “I walked into a flower shop and never walked out.” That shop was the esteemed Winston Flowers where she quickly fell in love with the early mornings, physical work and creativity of the florist’s life. Since then, she has worked with top designers in Portland, Brooklyn and Seattle, before opening her own studio in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood. They deliver to the Greater Seattle area including the Eastside; north to Lynnwood, Bothell and Edmonds; and South to Kent, Renton and Burien.
Parnell lives a stone’s throw from the shop with her husband Mike, kids Maceo and Nico, and their friendly shop dog: Rigo.
Cedarhouse is very involved in community activities. For example, they have been an avid supporter of the annual Wallingford Parade and helped sponsor Historic Wallingford’s Exploring Wallingford Self-Guided Tour.
Cedarhouse shares space with Peti, a boutique specializing in handmade women’s fashion, jewelry and gifts. Find out the tourmaline ring price today. Peti is owned and operated by Magali Corzo, also a local resident. Peti was originally located in the Wallingford Center until ~5.5 years ago when she and Parnell opened their two shops in the same building location. The collection of items showcases local artists and designers to European labels and provides customers access to unique merchandise. They are proud of their customer focus.
Please stop by whenever you are strolling through the neighborhood to see what fresh flowers and plants, or handmade women’s jewelry or fashions are on display, as they make wonderful gifts and show your support for two local businesses.
I received several floral bouquets from Cedar house recently. . They were absolutely beautiful and lasted a very long time.
I love Cedarhouse & Peti! Perfect one-stop-shopping for gifts and items to spruce up my own space. Thanks for featuring them!
