As a parent of a soon-to-be kindergartener and a soon-to-be second grader (who works more than a full time job), my family approaches the warmer months with mixed emotions. There is a frenetic energy in the air. While the kids begin to taste freedom, a lump of fear develops in my belly over how I will balance parenthood and work without the certainty and structure of school. For my family, relief comes in the form of a local summer camp hosted by Latona School Associates, which operates out of John Stanford International School on 2nd Avenue NE. The summer is filled with field trips and special guests making sure my kids are safe, entertained and still learning. While Latona School Associates (LSA) generally serves kids who attend John Stanford International School, the summer program is open to all!
Summer Camp Open at John Stanford International School – LSA
The Program Director writes:
LSA is excited about this year’s summer program. We are going to have many great activities, field trips, and adventures this summer. The cost of camp is $375 a week, we can accommodate partial weeks if you let us know in advance through email. This year we are trying to make our camps even greater then before and have partnered with a charter bus company so that we can offer a greater variety of field trips this summer. Some of the field tips we have planned during our weeks are a ferry trip to Bainbridge Island to visit one of the Northwest Trolls, The Cedar River Watershed, low tide beach combing, and a trip to Jetty Island. We will be posting more detailed week-to-week flyers in the coming weeks. We do understand that plans change when trying to plan for the summer months in advance. You may drop, or switch weeks by emailing me at [email protected] with no fee up until May 1st. After May 1st there is a $100 cancelation fee.
