Earlier this month, we posted a note from Daniel about the Earth Day cleanup that is scheduled for the ‘hood on Saturday, Earth Day. But unless you scribbled that event on your digital or analog calendar, you’ve likely forgotten. Here’s your reminder! There will also be information about other volunteer opportunities including this year’s Wallingford Parade, the Wallingford Beautification Committee, and if you are interested in volunteering to keep your part of Wallingford clean year-round, you can sign up for Seattle Public Utilities Adopt-A-Street program.
From Daniel’s original article:
The bi-annual Wallingford Earth Day family-friendly neighborhood cleanup event is coming up on Saturday, April 20. This event is a great way to show pride in the neighborhood, meet your neighbors and volunteer on Earth Day!
This years’ event will go from 10am to 1pm. Volunteers should meet at the South East corner of 45th and Wallingford by the Animal Storm Sculpture. Please RSVP by sending an email to [email protected]. This is not required but will help the organizers plan for the number of people. In the past few years, the event has drawn between 30 and 60 people.
Each volunteer will be given a safety vest, gloves, a trash grabber and garbage bags.
Hi Gary,
Thanks for posting. For future reference the parade is now called the Wallingford Parade. We want people to know it is for all ages not just kiddies!

Thanks for giving a shout out to other volunteer opportunities in Wallingford. We will have a table and information during the clean-up, please stop by and ask any questions.
