Snow! Just that word is enough to send waves of ecstatic joy to children, worry to working parents, and panic to those who must drive in Seattle snow. It’s not that we can’t drive in snow, it’s simply that we are a city full of roads with unplowed hills and very narrow side streets. (Check out the delightful YouTube clip of a compilation of cars out of control during a snow event in Seattle.) Combine the forecast of snow with our complete inability to actually predict if the snow event will really happen, due to our crazy convergence zones, and that should be enough to explain why Fremont Community School is postponing its Open House. Our new Open House date is Saturday, January 20th from 10am – noon.
Fremont Community School is a play-based, Waldorf-inspired school located in Lower Wallingford (across the street from the Bouldering Project). We serve families with children from the age of 3 months through 5 years. Our Sycamore Childcare Center is a fully licensed center offering full time care for little ones, five days a week, ten hours a day. (7:30am – 5:30pm).
Our Orchard location is a magnificent four hour preschool (9am -1pm) offering children many hours of playing inside and outside under a canopy of fig trees. By partnering with Tara’s Tots (located immediately next door) those children who need an extended day may attend the Songbirds afternoon program for an additional four hours (1-5pm).
