After what seemed like an eternity of schedule conflicts, a window in my morning schedule finally opened up, and I couldn’t wait to rush over to Doce Donut Co to try their newest seasonal flavors.
I’ve been a follower and huge fan of this place since they opened over the summer and am well aware of the high demand. If you don’t get their early enough, you may very well miss out. Sometimes they completely sell out by 11am. I know better now to act fast.
Doce is currently featuring two new limited-time flavors: Matcha Tiramisu and Coquito Eggnog Rum Custard. I was fortunate to snag one of their traditional Tiramisu donuts recently on its very last day of availability, so to switch it up a little bit I decided to go with the Coquito this time. Believe me, I would get them both if I could. But Doce doesn’t skimp when it comes to the richness and literal weight of their cream-filled donuts, so eating more than one at a time is a significant challenge.
The Coquito Eggnog Rum Custard donut did not disappoint. Adorned with a cute little gingerbread man (made and decorated in house, too! According to Doce’s instagram) this donut was the perfect way to start an otherwise cold and dreary December morning. I’ll definitely return to try the Matcha Tiramisu donut after this sugar coma passes.
