During the month of November, Seattle Utilities will accept up to ten extra bags of yard waste from current customers. This is only for yard waste, discarded food items must still fit inside your bin. So after you have raked your leaves and let your dog or child jump in them a few times, you have the option to use your fallen leaves as compost in your garden or put out extra yard waste bags for the city to collect. But whatever you decide, please help keep fall leaves out of drains to reduce the risk of flooding. Because clearing out a flooded basement is not how any of us want to spend this rainy season.
