It’s a typical Seattleite’s conundrum. You’ve replaced an item with something a bit better, but you can’t bear the thought of throwing out the old one because it still works just fine. On the flip side of the coin, you hesitate to spring for a new whatever because you’re sure someone must be giving one away somewhere. In either case, Saturday is your day!
We got this announcement from Kimberly:
Buy Nothing Wallingford (Buy Nothing Wallingford (Central/East) Seattle, WA | Facebook), Buy Nothing Green Lake SE (Buy Nothing Green Lake SE, Seattle, WA | Facebook) and Fremont Freecycle (Fremont Freecycle | Facebook) are hosting our Third Annual Community Free Day this Saturday, August 12th, from 9-3 pm. All neighbors are invited to join in the fun!
A community free day is like a community garage sale – residents throughout the neighborhoods will set items out on their driveways, parking strips, or front steps. But instead of charging money, all items will be free (and marked as such – if you see items with price tags, you have probably stumbled upon an actual garage sale!). We encourage you to stroll through the neighborhood, find fun free items, and get to know your neighbors.
In the spirit of neighborliness, we ask that you please don’t take any tables, sheets or tarps that are being used for display unless they are clearly marked “free.” Also, please no dumping.
Community Free Day is open to all community members – you don’t need to be part of a Buy Nothing or Freecycle group to participate. (But feel free to ask how to join!).
A map showing participating houses is here.
For redundancy, here’s a QR code that goes to the same place:
