Historic Wallingford is teaming up with Wallingford’s own Feliks Banel to do a once-a-month live radio broadcast this summer at the neighborhood Farmers Market in Meridian Park. Called The Wallingford Local, the show will be broadcast live on SPACE 101.1 FM, a people-powered, arts-focused community radio station, the last Wednesday of the month beginning May 31 from 5-6 pm. It also will be available via livestream and podcast.
Many know Feliks from his popular live radio show and podcast Cascade of History or have heard him on KIRO Newsradio where he works full time. He reports Pacific Northwest history like the sports desk covers the hometown teams! The show will feature an eclectic assortment of guests including musicians, spoken-word artists, historians, business owners, and others. Farmers Market news and vendor spotlights are also planned. The sound and feel will be local, organic, folksy and sometimes downright corny – but always in support of telling the stories of Wallingford past, present, and future in order to build and strengthen community.
The show aims to showcase local musical and artistic talent, community members, organizations, and small businesses. To participate, reach out to Feliks Banel and the team at [email protected].
Farmers Market patrons are encouraged to stop by, have a listen and say hello!
Historic Wallingford is proud to have the support of 4Culture, as well as many neighbors and friends.
