Seattle Historical Theater Project invites the public to a free production of Friends Across the Wires — April 16th 3:00p.m. at Wallingford United Methodist Church, 2115 N. 42nd St., Seattle
Friends Across the Wires explores the impact of the Japanese American incarceration during WWII through the lens of young people in Seattle. The play follows best friends Kiyoko and Peggy, students at Seattle’s Broadway High School, from the bombing of Pearl Harbor through the end of Kiyoko’s incarceration at Minidoka. Based on first-person accounts, interviews, and additional primary source research, the play offers an intimate exploration of friendship while examining historical patterns of racism. Tickets are free.
