After a two year respite, one of Seattle’s most colorful traditions returns in all its whimsy. The Fremont Solstice Parade is back — but without a Wallingford finish in Gas Works Park this year.
NEW SOLSTICE PARADE ROUTE
The 2022 Fremont Solstice Parade kicks off at 3rd Ave NW and Leary Way, continues along 36th Street, then takes a right on N. Evanston, looping back westbound on 35th Street to end right in the heart of the Fremont Fair!
Saturday, June 18th 2:00 pm – People Parade: More than 60 community-based, people-powered ensembles will parade down the streets of Fremont with giant puppets, stilt walkers, floats, dancers, cyclists, and musicians in a kaleidoscope of joyous human expression.
Sunday, June 19th 2:00pm – Dog parade: If painted bike riders are not your cup of tea, gather for the dog parade the next day — I have a hunch the dogs may be wearing more clothing than the cyclists…
SUN’S OUT BUNS OUT?
Sun’s out Buns Out is not the official motto of the Fremont Solstice Parade, but the painted cyclists have become a key tenant of the festivities. Without the culmination in Gas Works Park this year, the group is looking for painting party locations for the cyclists.
FREMONT FAIR
Saturday, June 18: 10:00 am-8:00 pm
Sunday, June 19: 11:00 am-6:00 pm
The Fremont Fair draws about 100,00 people to “the center of the universe”. In addition to the 2 parades, the Fair includes a craft market with 300 vendors spanning 6 blocks, art cars, a beer garden and lots of music (from buskers and at the Kona Brewing Co Mainstage).

So when /is? Wallingford Kiddie Parade?
I just looked on their Facebook page and read “There is no 2022 parade. See you in 2023!”.
