The turtle joined the butterfly as two of the more conspicuous examples of intersection art. There is also the recent addition of the crosswalk art work near McDonald Elementary. These are great additions to the neighborhood, but they need upkeep.
A neighbor alerted us to a great community event tomorrow at 9am to repaint the turtle:
We’re holding another party to repaint Wallingford’s Bubbles the Turtle this Sunday, July 28! Bubbles is the street mural at N 41st St and Interlake Ave N, and it’s definitely ready for a fresh coat of paint. Anyone is welcome to help starting around 9 am Sunday (including kids, as long as they’re supervised). Note that the streets will be closed both Saturday and Sunday for the event. Hope to see you there!
