I remember camping out overnight for Pink Floyd tickets, but I didn’t realize that beer releases could generate the same excitement.
According to Facebook’s Wallingford Community Page, there’s a line down the block coming from Bottleworks (1710 N 45th St) awaiting the limited, one bottle per customer, release of a unique Belgian brew (and an accompanying 20th anniversary party).
Here’s what Bottleworks had to say on Instagram:
This Sunday, February 17th, we’re celebrating our 20th Anniversary! We are honored to have Adam and his team over @floodlandbrewing make a beer for us that represents both our roots here in Washington and our love of all things Belgian. The beer is a blend of oak fermented wild and mixed culture beers refermented with Washington-grown, organic balaton cherries and blackberries. We will have bottles for sale to go at the @party on Sunday, along with a lot of awesome beer pouring on draft and from bottles throughout the day. It will be a fun day and we look forward to celebrating with all of you! ….. And now you can swipe right on the images for all the down-n-dirty details!
Bottleworks opens at 11 am.
We live a block from Bottleworks, and their anniversary brews have gotten to be an annual neighborhood event. You look out the window in the morning, see a line of people stretched along 45th, Densmore and 46th, and realize that it’s that time of year again.
I will say that their 20th yesterday was a record for queue length; all very cheerful people, though. Congratulations to Bottleworks on another year!
