The Great Wallingford Wurst Festival – Friday, Sept. 21 4-10pm, Saturday, Sept. 22 10am – 10pm
This event likely needs little introduction, as the signs blanket the neighborhood. The Wurst Fest is celebrating its 35th year. The event is a fund raiser for St. Benedict Catholic School, a K-8 school located next door to St. Benedict Catholic Church. The event draws upwards of 10,000 people to the neighborhood as a fundraiser for a school with 215 students. Would that all fundraisers generate that kind of multiple.
The Great Wallingford Wurst Festival is an “Octoberfest” style end-of-summer celebration that takes place in September at St. Benedict School. Now in its 35th year, the festival started as a small fundraiser for the school. Today the festival brings more than 10,000 visitors to the Wallingford neighborhood in one weekend. The Wurst Festival features inflatable rides, an array of delicious foods, games for kids of all ages, craft booths, homemade sweets, a book sale, a Biergarten, a raffle, plus live entertainment on an outdoor stage.
I don’t blame them. I had no idea there is so much shoplifting. I witnessed, and reported it the other day. Retarding decreasing three hours, I imagine there are hours during the night when there are no customers at all.
Someone shoplifted the wurst???
