Two recent shootings in our neighborhood have left neighbors a bit frazzled to say the least.
The most recent shooting occurred in the 1900 block of 46th St on Tuesday. The Seattle Police Blotter reports:
… it appears the incident unfolded shortly after 4:15 PM Tuesday in the 1900 block of North 46th Street when two tenants, who live in separate apartment units, became embroiled in a dispute. One of the three tenants in the home reportedly armed himself with a knife and chased after another tenant. The second tenant went to third tenant for help. The third tenant, who saw the suspect was armed with a knife, armed himself with a handgun and shot the first tenant.
The man who was shot reportedly has non-life threatening injuries. The Seattle Times picked up the story here.
Last Friday, August 17, a drive by shooting took place on Latona. Writes a reader:
Has anyone noted all the recent police activity on Latona Ave and 41st NE two days ago? This morning my Air BNB guest went for a walk and found a bullet lying in the street on 40th and Latona. I live alone and am very concerned but don’t think reporting it would do anything. I think I’ll contact the police regardless of the fact they won’t do anything but note it.
SPD’s twitter account for Beat 3 had this to say:
Beat:B3, DRIVE BY SHOOTING (NO INJURIES) at 44XX BLOCK OF LATONA AV NE reported on 8/17/2018 1:28 AM, Call# 18000305742
