Jake Weber, Executive Director of FamilyWorks, sent this thank you note for Molly Moon’s:
Did you know that Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in Wallingford? This shop is Molly’s original site (now there are eight) and has been a destination for thousands of visitors to Wallingford each year for scrumptious, locally sourced handmade ice cream. What you might not know is that because of Molly’s strong humanitarian values, thousands of FamilyWorks’ food bank customers have access to better nutrition because of the weekly milk and dairy products they receive via Molly Moon’s Anna Banana Milk Fund! Since 2011, over 22,000 half gallons of Smith Brothers’ milk and over 14,000 units of yogurt, butter, and eggs have been delivered and distributed as to over 6,000 households with the love and nurturing that fresh dairy can bring.
The generosity of Molly Moon and her employees sets an example for all of us. Martin Luther King, Jr. talked about a “beloved community,” which was his vision for a global community in which human decency prevents poverty, homelessness, and hunger. Molly Moon’s Anna Banana Milk Fund and the employees and community members who support the fund are helping to create is a beloved community right here in Wallingford! Thanks to Molly Moon and her team for making generosity a corporate value and sharing the joy of the ice cream experience to benefit the entire community.
