The Garden Art is Blooming!
Twenty local artists in a variety of media are opening their creative spaces this weekend for a free Seattle garden art and studio tour. This is a unique opportunity to see the artists at work and get an inside view of art in action!
The tour centers around art for the garden or home and includes stained glass garden stakes, ceramic planters, wind chimes, patio tables, lanterns, bird baths and houses, and more. There will be six sites in all, so come by site #1 at 5419 Kensington Place N. and pick up a map or download at the Art in Bloom website. The tour runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 5.
Site #1 is the studio of Wallingford glass artist Bridget Culligan. Bridget dove into her craft after taking classes at Seattle Stained Glass (on 45th and 1st N). She now does restoration of old windows, works on commissions for new windows, and pursues her own craft. She is inspired by nature and the love of color! At the sale she will have stained glass windows and garden stakes for you to enjoy. Joining her at the site will be glass artist Carol Doherty and cement artist Linda Thorson.
