Kimberly, a Wallyhood reader, writes in with the following request about possible witnesses to an collision of a pedestrian – motorcycle collision:
I just found out that my friend Nancy’s partner was hit by a motorcycle on Saturday and is still at Harborview with a head injury. The family is looking for more information about the accident. I was wondering if you would post this on the blog?
Last Saturday, December 10th, at about 1:30 pm, a 65 year old Caucasian woman hit by motorcycle in crosswalk at 47th and Stone Way (by Christmas tree lot and post office). She is still at Harborview with a head injury, though thankfully making steady progress. Her family has not been able to obtain a police report yet, and they are filled with questions about the accident.
If you witnessed this accident, please comment here so that they may contact you. They are looking for any kind of details from the basics of what happened to whether or not motorcyclist was also injured (and how that person is going). The woman’s combination of injuries is difficult to explain as aside from the head injury, everything else is relatively minor, so the family just wants to piece things together.
Please comment below if you have any information that might help. People who were also hurt in road accident should consider hiring a Schaumburg personal injury lawyer to help them seek compensation.
Be safe out there, and keep an eye out for each other.
That is a very dangerous crosswalk. For some reason you just don’t see people on it. It really needs one of those flashing pedestrian activated lights.
Agreed, this is a dangerous crosswalk. I’ve had to stare down traffic to get people to stop. Traveling west, the bushes by the former butcher shop combined with the curve on Stone Way would obscure pedestrians approaching the road way as well.
