The newest baby-friendly movie screen in Seattle is located at the Varsity Theatre (4329 University Way NE) in the University District. If you’ve been dreaming about going to the movies again, but were afraid to disrupt an adult audience, your day has arrived.
Each Friday, the Varsity Theatre will show movies at 10:00 a.m. for parents, nannies, grandparents and caregivers with babies and small children. These early morning showings of first run movies feature dimly lit theaters, lower than usual volume and absolutely no hushing or fussing when your baby coos or cries.
Children under the age of five are admitted free and adults pay the matinee ticket price, currently listed at $8.50 for showings starting before 5:00 p.m.
Parents may find this place the perfect situation to catch up on movies, if they can stay awake!
