Heidi, who lives near 44th and Latona, forwarded this note from her neighbor Tim:
The Seattle Fire Department was out knocking on doors today. Apparently there has been an arsonist in the neighborhood setting fires outside homes. As recent as today.
The very nice fireman suggested that we all be aware and importantly to remove anything near the house that the arsonist could light on fire. I scanned in the flier the PFD is handing out; he asked if I might let my neighbors know.
I think I better go remove that loose wood by my office door!
Thank you for the alert!
Thanks!
I had a “visitor” last night about midnight. It was raining very hard and I noticed someone on the porch of the house across the street. I thought it was someone who lived there as he was wearing only a white t-shirt and blue jeans. He was walking back and forth on the porch, saw me watching from across the street, and walked off the porch towards my house. The people in the house opened the front door and yelled down to him asking what he was doing on their porch. He said that he was looking for someone. Then he knocked on my door. I opened it and he asked if this was a church. I said no and he left. I called the police. White, five foot ten or so. Chunky build, blond, thinning hair and beard. late 20’s I would say. Not sure if there is a connection as it was pouring rain, but could be.
Forgot to add that I live at 43rd and Latona
I too saw the white T-shirt clad midnight marauder. He resembled an over age trick or treater soaked to the bone. I watched from across the street as he walked up on about 4 porches and looked in windows and tried door knobs. From 44th/Latona up to 45th/Latona. I guess he didn’t like my side of the street… After all that two SPD cruisers arrived and he had his rendezvous with destiny.
As a wise man once said ‘nothing good happens after midnight’
Did they actually arrest him?
They caught the arsonist. Living under the bridge like an actual and metaphorical troll.
