That plume of black smoke you see is coming from 434 N. 35th Street. We understand it’s at Asko Metal, a metal processing plant. Here’s some activity from Twitter with photos:

Actually it is the other Asko building at 462 N 35th Street behind the High Dive. Looks bad.
our family was at the wallingford playground during the fire, and didn’t notice the smoke at first, but then our eyes were burning/stinging. then we noticed the fire and smell of smoke. i wonder if we should be concerned? it looked like we were directly downwind.
The companies in the building are “large-quantity generators of hazardous waste,” and there was some pretty toxic stuff there being burned up and washed out by the fire hoses. There’s a little information about this in the report from KOMO: http://www.komonews.com/news/local/2-alarm-fire-burning-Fremont-metal-processing-plant-277644191.html
