Back in April, we helped the Wallingford Community Council (WCC) get the word out that they were looking for a new logo. Erika Bigelow let us know they’ve chosen a winner for their contest, and it looks great:
Nice work, Ted Cotrotsos of Wallingford, who created the design.

Hello Wallingford – The Wallingford Community Council is looking for a few good people to lend a hand. We have a new, talented and motivated board, but have discovered that we absolutely can’t be everywhere at once. This is where you come in. Wait, don’t delete this e-mail. These are minimal-time volunteer gigs that will help the community in which you live. You get to ‘give-back’ and your friends and neighbors will wish they could be a rock star like you. Win-win. Here’s the details:WCC Representative at City Neighborhood Council (CNC) – The last Monday of the month, City Hall, Room 370, 6:30 p.m. The CNC is made up of 13 representatives elected by each District Council. They provide city-wide coordination for the Neighborhood Matching Fun, Neighborhood Budget Prioritization and Neighborhood Planning Programs.WCC Representative at CNC Land Use Committee – 3rd Tuesday of every month, City Hall, Room 370, 6 p.m.This committee primarily deals with land use issues. They can influence city policy, but more importantly keep track of what is going on in city government.WCC Representative at Seattle Community Council Federation – 4th Tuesday of every month, Central Area Senior Center, 500 30th Ave S, 7 p.m. A Coalition for all neighborhoods with wide ranging agendas. A place to coordinate with other neighborhoods on issues.WCC Representative to Good Shepherd Center Senior Center – On-needed basis. No formal meeting times.WCC Representative at University of Washington Community Advisory Committee (CUCAC) – 2nd Tuesdayof each month, UW Tower, 22nd floor, 4333 Brooklyn Ave 7-8:30 p.m. Run by UW, a forum to discuss Burke Gilman, 520, Light Rail and projects that impact neighboring communitiesYour role (and might I suggest, grabbing a buddy and job-sharing?) is to pick a committee and attend the meetings at said meeting dates/times. Note what is relevant to Wallingford and report back to WCC. This can be done at the monthly WCC meeting (1st Wed of each month, 7 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Center) or via e-mail, whatever works for you. We are not finicky, but we will be appreciative. E-mail [email protected] as soon as you can to grab your preferred role and thank you for your help!
Love the logo. It will remind me of the classic film, Joe vs. the Volcano every time I see it.
