Wallingford COMMUNITY Senior Center will feature a variety of great programming in May. Here are a few highlights:
Interested in Arts & Culture? WCSC features two programs on May Day (May 1st) which might be right up your alley!
Outing to Northwest African American Museum – Thursday, May 1st, 12:30-3:30 PM. View the exhibit “Pitch Black” and learn about Washington’s black baseball history. Who played baseball where? How did segregation and integration play out on local baseball fields? $6 members/ $9 public. Advanced registration required.
Acrylics Art Class – Thursday, May 1st from 3-5 PM. Explore your creative side with acrylics! Enjoy afternoon treats and easy conversation with others. No experience necessary. Paint, brushes & small canvases provided. Wear an apron or smock and bring something to prop up your canvas. Taught by Anita Elder, Wallingford artist & graphic designer. $8 members/$10 public. Advanced registration required.
And, if you’re looking to expand your creativity further, consider joining The Artist’s Way Series, which meets every three weeks on Wednesday evenings at WCSC, from 7-8:30 PM. Next meeting is Wednesday, May 7th. Uncover, discover and recover your creativity with a group of supportive fellow creatives! You don’t need to be an artist to join. Led by yours truly, Victoria Dzenis, WCSC Program Manager and Creativity Coach. $13 members/$15 public. Advanced registration requested.
Ready to get out and walk this Spring, or do your feet need a treat? Get foot care at WCSC, then use those re-furbished feet to take a walk around Green Lake!
Foot Care Services – beginning Thursday, May 8th, appointments available 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Private 45-minute appointments include: history and foot assessment, treatment, gentle foot massage. With Michael Methe, LPN. $32 members/$37 public. Advance appointments required.
Green Lake Loopers Walking Group – May 9th, 1:30 PM at Green Lake. Meet new friends and enjoy a walk around Green Lake! Walk around the lake at a gentle or moderate pace. Meet in front of Green Lake Church, 6350 E. Green Lake Way N. Look for yellow Green Lake Loopers signs.
