Wow – what a great show! We were so pleasantly surprised and had a fun time. A good-sized crowd. A both cozy and grand performance space. Wonderful lineup of singers. Loved the jazz quartet +1 (pianist). Julie C is funny, talented and likable. Larry Murante sang two original folk songs. Google him, and try out some of his tunes. A voice student of Julie’s sang for his first time in front of strangers- and what a heartfelt performance with a strong, confident voice. I don’t think I’m going out on a limb too much to say that B. Maniphesto brought down the house, sounding the alarm about the damage caused by fishing to the environment and sea critters – not just the fish to be sold, but all of the collateral damage. It was his first time performing his original work. The show started out with Julie interviewing Kelly Lyles, an artist, and later a woman read a poem written by Jan Hague (sp?) that was superb in painting a picture and telling a story. And don’t let me forget the ballet dancer, who was expressive and powerful in his performance. Everyone was interesting and talented; it would be so fun to be able to have this in the ‘hood every so often. So glad we happened to see this just today on Wallyhood! And that might not have happened had it not been for the Great Brown Water Scare of ’14. Thanks, Veraci Pizza, for sponsoring this event!

I should have mentioned that B. Maniphesto was the vegan rapper!
