Joe Russell, erstwhile barkeep at Kell’s Irish Pub downtown, is hanging out his own shingle in Wallingford: Russell’s (4111 Stone Way).
Russell’s aims to be a neighborhood pub and restaurant, with a small kitchen featuring niblets such as cheese plates, salads, and housemade pot pies. If beer and cocktails aren’t your fancy, they’ll have wine on tap, as well.
Yes, that’s wine on tap. Russell’s will feature Proletariat Wines, who’s goal it is to “bring high quality, otherwise expensively priced wines to restaurant diners at extremely reasonable prices. Proletariat’s premium wines from the best growing regions in the northwest are delivered through the keg direct to glass.”
Russell’s aims to open this Friday, March 14th next Friday, March 21st.
Update: Just heard from Joe. Still waiting on permits, opening has been postponed a week, to Friday, March 21st.
You heard it here first: With its weed shops, cafes and pubs, Stone Way is soon going to be the hippest street in Seattle. And you can still buy a toilet there!
Not looking forward to the massive rent increases that come with this.
Kell’s is a great place, how exciting! I look forward to checking it out Friday! Does anyone know if Russell’s will be having live, traditional Irish music at all??
Do we have an address or block on Stone? or did I miss it in the article? Tapadh leat/Thanks (in Scottish Gaelic) {:-)
Whoops! It’s at 4111 Stone Way. I’ve updated the post.
Wishing the best of success! Looking forward to hearing great reviews 😉
Opening still on for tomorrow?
