Angela T. popped in to ask the guys doing construction on the old Yogurtland Building (or old Boston Market building, or old Sunshine Market building, depending on your timeframe) at the corner of Sunnyside and 45th what they were constructing.
Domino’s Pizza.
Sigh.
Let’s change the subject and think about something else: what’s your favorite pizza in Wallingford? I’m partial to Pudge Brothers myself. Good cheese, decent sauce, nice chewy crust.
I’ve got mail in to Domino’s HQ to ask them what the opening date is. Will let you know if / when I hear back.
Favorite pizza? Pagliacci for sure.
Pudge Bros for me although I wasn’t psyched they changed the bread on their sandwiches. Pagliacci is good, but it makes it easier for me to say it is technically in Fremont.
Google maps agrees that Pagliacci isn’t in Wallingford: https://goo.gl/maps/NTfHV … I’m not sure that _I_ agree, though.
Stone Way and Tangletown are the Kashmirs of Wallingford.
I’m an unrepentant expansionist. Aurora is the natural boundary, carved by God’s own hand.
So what pizza *is* in Wallingford these days? Pudge Bros and Tutta Bella are all I can think of (although I consider Pagliacci on Stone Way to be Wallingford as well).
Always happy with Pagliacci, but on a rainy weekend afternoon? Baking Zaw’s Pizza in the oven does it for me, and fools my guests into thinking I’ve been doing some serious cooking. 🙂
Tutta Bella, Olympia, Milano’s, Pudge Brothers and Pagiliacci. Hope I’m not forgetting any.
Zaw’s! They deliver now, by the way.
Well, Dominos is Dominos, but at least it’s cheap. I’ll admit I get tired paying $20 for a pizza sometimes! In terms of taste, I’ll add my vote for Pagliacci 🙂
Milano’s!
Northlake Pizza can probably be claimed to be in Wallingford.
