The Wallingford dump (or North Transfer Station, if you want to get all fancy pants) is about to hit go on the big redesign:
North Transfer Station Closing for Rebuild
Current station will close after 5:30 p.m. on January 20.
Seattle Public Utilities is getting ready to replace the North Transfer Station (1350 North 34th Street) with a more modern and efficient facility that will meet the growing future needs of the city.
To prepare for the demolition and rebuild work, the current station will close after 5:30 p.m. on January 20. The new North Transfer Station is expected to open in 2016. To learn more about the North Transfer Station Rebuild Project, visit the project website at www.seattle.gov/util/NewNorth.
While closed, station users are encouraged to use the new South Transfer Station facility at 130 South Kenyon Street in South Park. Directions and station hours for the South Transfer Station are at www.seattle.gov/util/Dump.
But don’t take your broken Christmas lights anywhere but the recycling stations Barb told you about.
