So what do you have planned for Thanksgiving Day, Wallingford (besides joining me and a crew of your neighbors at the JSIS playground for a disorganized game of kickball and hot toddies?)
In case you don’t have it sussed out yet, take heart in the fact that Ireland does not celebrate Thanksgiving! Thus, Murphy’s Irish Pub will be open Thanksgiving Day starting at 11 am, with a full service menu until 4 pm and limited menu after that from the kitchen. Presumably that limited menu includes the fine collection of whiskeys they stock.
Julia’s will be open 8 am – 2 pm on Thanksgiving, as well. Chutney’s will be open normal hours.
Murphy’s owner Vipul Shah also notes that, should you wish to skip the shopping mall madness on Friday (or take a break from clicking around eBay and Amazon), they’ll be open around noon on Friday for the Apple Cup.
Just some (hopefully) constructive criticism on their menu as posted online, all salads between $8 and $10 plus $2 extra for chicken? Really? All their other prices seem fairly typically priced but paying that for a salad seems odd for a pub. I guess it’s an Elaine Benes really really big salad.
surely it’s an exquisite blend of fresh greens, plump and brightly colored veggies and handcrafted gourmet dressings. or a sysco salad mix.
