Those goats we told you about earlier this week are still down by I-5 and 40th, munching blackberry.

Just wanted to let you know that when we brought our pumpkin “guts” to feed the goats today, the goat lady was there and said they LOVE pumpkins! She requested that we contact you to put the word out. But please NOT anything else. For example: Laurel is toxic to goats!
Hmmmm, not to be a Grinch, but…..haven’t the goats been HIRED to eat the blackberries and other weeds? My understanding was that their purpose is to remove the cover for drug dealing, etc. in that area. Wouldn’t people dumping their pumpkins be counterproductive? I know it is fun to go down and watch them. I also think it may be important to understand that this is not a petting zoo and these are working animals.
Okay, they’re working for their food, but who turns down a little treat when offered? All blackberries and no pumpkin guts makes Jack a dull goat!! Let’s enjoy a bit of wildlife in the neighborhood, shall we?
Yes, these are ‘working animals”. How much per hour do they get? I doubt if anyone is bringing their kid sto a petting zoo here.
What a boring life you must have to write such drivel.
BTW I am home with strept throat.. so I have half an excuse.
Just to reiterate: It was the goat lady who encouraged feeding her goats pumpkins.
And to add- Please no left-over WAX (bad, bad, bad). Happy Halloween!
The goats are hired for the job. If they estimate 4 days it takes 5, there is no charge for the extra day. So if goat lady is willing to let the goats hang out for an extra day for the benefit of some free food, her call.
This afternoon, I walked down to see the goats with my daughter and my jack-o-lantern in my back pack.
I spoke to the “goat lady” just to make sure it was a good idea. She suggested I toss it in the area farthest from the I5 since it the area was flat and wouldn’t roll down the hill.
The goats went buck wild when they saw the pumpkin bits on their side of the fence.
