The goats are back.
If you were wondering what all that fencing was on 40th St just below the John Stanford school between Latona and I-5, wonder no longer:
Yep, those are goats, on duty, working for the city clearing out the blackberries. They’ve been there since Saturday, at least. I’m not sure how long they’ll be around, but there’s no shortage of blackberries for them to snack on.
(Thanks Ian Taylor and Madi for the tip. Second photo by Ian.)
It was wonderful yesterday driving up NE 40th and seeing the goats and nearly every car stop and get out, look at the goats, take pictures, with or without kids, chat up the goats, feed the goats (which is sort of silly; they’re there to eat blackberry and they’ll do just fine on it).
Every single person was smiling. Goats are good.
I LOVE THE GOATS!
I too love goats! Yes goats are good! Hurray for city council employing friendly funny goats instead of noisy machines! News like this makes me happy.
I didnt see where one could park to take photos. Lovely those goats.
Lots of parking on upper NE 40th under I-5, at least on weekends and later in the day.
Really fun to check them out. Hurry! At the rate they’re going they won’t be around long!
Don’t worry about parking. Leave your car at home and go for a walk to see the goats.
BrianT – Must be the folks from upper Wallingford who need to drive. But I’ve heard that some actually walk to 42nd Street on Halloween night!
Me and my Dog-Mom have been walking the many extra blocks each day on our walk now to visit my new friends, the goats! They do like dog treats! Although ive heard they’ll eat anything, my Mom specially bakes treats for me, and I’m certain the goats appreciate the extra love put into them, as I do.
I hope they’ re here forever,!
