A benefit concert will be held at the Neptune Theater (1303 NE 45th St.) this Saturday (June 15, beginning at 6:00pm), to honor Felipe. This is an all-ages show and the suggested donation is $10 at the door (to benefit Felipe’s family). Here are more details from the Seattle Theatre Group’s webpage:
Join us for a celebration with musicians playing in tribute to Felipe, who tragically died on May 17th of heart complications from a life-long heart condition. The funds donated at the door or online will support Felipe’s beloved wife Katy Lauzen Cañete and their baby son Rio Malai Cañete. If you are unable to attend, please consider a donation to the Cañete family fund, accessible online here.Felipe Cañete, 1976 – 2013, a native of Chile, lived in Seattle for the past 8 years with his wife Katy. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Talca in Chile and studied theater. As a child growing up in Chile, he performed as a singer and dancer in local festivals.
