Wallyreader and super soccer mom Jessica wrote to let us know that it’s time to think about Fall sports! If you would like your little one to strap on some shin guards and burn some energy on the soccer field, and if you live within the Woodland Club boundaries (3rd NW to I-5, and from the ship canal to N and NW 85th Street), now is the time to register for Fall soccer. Jessica says:
Fall Soccer registration for Woodland Soccer begins May 1st and runs through June 2nd. Late registration continues after June 2nd on a space available basis; registrants are charged a $15 late fee.
Players must be at least 5 years old by July 31, 2013, to participate. At the youngest ages, games are held Saturdays at Wallingford Park. There is typically one practice a week — the time and location are decided by the coach of the team. Games start after Labor Day and run through the end of October.
There are over 1100 kids who play with Woodland Soccer Club, which is an all-volunteer run club, and a member of the Seattle Youth Soccer Association.
We need coaches! Most coaches are parents who are volunteering to coach their child’s team. Woodland Soccer Club provides training opportunities for new coaches and lesson plans for practices. To learn more, visit http://www.woodlandsoccer.org/coaches/coaches_home.php
