Next Tuesday, January 22nd at 6:30 pm, I’ll be hosting a 90 minute meeting with a Seattle police officer and facilitator in my living room in Wallingford. If you’re interested in being a part of the conversation to improve police-community relations, please consider coming. I’ll be able to host up to 20 people – if there’s more interest than that, we can set up a second meeting.
The focus of this meeting will be:
- What are the top concerns of residents when it comes to safety in their neighborhood
- How can the community work better with the Seattle police to create a more collaborative relationship
- What can Seattle police do better
- What do Seattle police do now that does work.
A delegate and an alternate delegate are selected from the group to go to a larger county-wide meeting in March, where the data from several conversation programs are examined and action steps are discussed.
Please RSVP to [email protected] for address (easily accessible from the center of Wallingford).
I have a previous commitment and won’t be able to make it. If someone could summarize the meeting and post that summary here, I’d be grateful.
