With the inauguration wrapped up, you’re no doubt exhausted from the intense focus the media has paid the most pressing issue facing our nation: Michelle Obama’s outfits. “Now,” you’re probably thinking to yourself, “what have I got that’s going to match that, and show that I am ready to follow our leader into the future?”
Wonder no more: this Sunday, January 27th from 1 pm – 6 pm, Om Culture is hosting the Seattle Clothing and Costume Exchange:
This clothing exchange will be focused on clean, undamaged, fashionable, wearable items (for men and women).
- COSTUMES (if they’ve been worn to utter destruction, feel free to bring them, but they will not count toward your admission item total).
- WINTER and SPRING garments (aside from costumes)! Please try to keep to the season requested so that we can build current, useful wardrobes for each other.
- KIDS clothes. For parents, there will be a separate table to swap kids clothes. However, these items will not count toward the entry item quota, so please come prepared with 30 of your own items. This table is simply for your benefit. ♥
There is an entire wall of mirrors available for trying on clothes if you don’t mind being in the open. For those who like more privacy, there are private areas for both men and women to try clothes on. If you have old watches that you want to bring to the event, you might want to have them repaired at a watch service shop beforehand.
Sounds like there’s a lot more than just clothing swapping going on: the event promises energy work, tarot readings, massage, tea and door prizes.
Door prizes? Yes, a slew of door prizes, none more valuable than custom diapers from Opulent Monsters. (OK, probably some more valuable than custom diapers, but none more amusing to write!)
Admission is $10 – $20, depending on whether and how much you bring to the exchange. Details on their Facebook page.
Those without a Facebook account will have to find some other way to get the details.

It’s a great idea, but/and I have a designer jacket to sell. Earthtones, Egyptian cloth, about a size 14. I guess I’ll have to go Craigslist.
