Jamila wrote to tell us about a missing cat around NE 54th St. at Latona:
We think it’s likely that she’s trapped or hurt in the blocks near our house. She has never strayed more than a few houses away from our yard.
Here’s a flier about the cat.

We’ll keep a watch for your cat. Please let us know how things are going.
Two dogs who lived on NE 54th across from the school dragged a beloved cat out of his harness in his backyard on Latona and killed him. The killing was witnessed by a neighbor who was able to track down the dog owner and help take him to court.
Some of us now keep our cats close to us outside; many keep our cats indoors. It hurts my heart to keep my cat from going out.
Our thoughts are with you. We hope you find your cat alive and well.
Thank you for the good thoughts! She is still missing, so please check garages or crawl spaces in the vicinity of 54th and Latona. Our number is 523-3381 if anyone finds her or has any information about her. If she is in your garage and you let her out, we’re sure she’ll come home, so don’t worry about trying to catch her, but we’d love a call if you spot her.
Jamila, i read a notice that had your address on it, but now do not see that. Your phone number does not appear in this article, only in the comments section — ditto your idea to just let her go to come home to you. good luck.
Our address is 316 NE 54th St. Just three houses east of Latona. Thank you!
