Just when you thought that there was every type of food truck imaginable, you hear of a new one.
This time, it’s all about the cheese.
Cheese Wizards, owned by Tom and Bo Saxbe, are purveyors of all the gloppy goodness in a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich; and during the month of October, they’ll be at Wine World & Spirits (400 NE 45th St.) on Wednesdays (from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, during “Meet the Brewer” night) and Saturdays (from 2:00pm to 5:00pm).
Sandwiches are priced between $4.57 (for a “Wizard’s Familiar” aka the white bread with American cheese) and $8.68 (for most of their speciality cheese sandwiches), and come with a dipping sauce. Sandwiches are also available as a combo, with chips and drink, for another $2.51. Personally, I’m holding out for the Holy Hand Grenade (Pretzel roll, havarti, sea salt, and a thick slice of tomato in the middle, for $5.02). Click here for their “Menu-Nomicon“.
And what is the best paring with a grilled cheese sandwich? Tomato soup, of course! The Cheese Wizards have a tomato basil soup available by the cup ($3.20) or by the cauldron ($4.57).
Don’t forget to save room for a “Happy Ending Cookie Sandwich” (two gooey, hot chocolate chip cookies filled with melty marshmallow and Nutella in the middle, for $3.66).
