Mary is visiting during her drive from Alaska to Colorado and she writes this sad news about her traveling companion:
I am traveling through Washington from Alaska to Colorado with my dog. Last night (September 27th) between 8:20pm and 9:00pm my dog was taken from outside Kate’s Pub on 45th Ave and Latona. She is an Australian Shepherd/Husky mix around 42-50 pounds. She is brown and white and her name is Nahla. She has on a brown leather collar with a red tag. There are photos all up and down 45th, the U district, and the Ave. Please call Mary with ANY information (719) 216-3434 or Paul at Wally’s Pets. I think she was put in a car because she does not walk well with other people. Please, Please if any Information contact me I have not slept all night and just want my dog back. She is probably so scared, she is a rescue dog. She is all I have. :”(
Mary,
I am so very sorry your Nahla was stolen. This must be agonizing for you. Please do not give up hope.
Marty
As both a neighbor and a (rescue) dog owner, I was heartsick to hear about this. Hoping not to add confusion, but in case it widens the parameters & helps trigger more memories: I first heard the calling for Nahla at more like 5:00 or 5:30, not 8:30, while walking my pooch. Someone did this in broad daylight.
Mary, can you add what Nahla’s leash looks like? If she was taken by leash. So sorry for what you’re going through… and glad to see it posted with the good peeps here and with Paul.
Mary and her friend came by our house today to see if we have seen or heard of anything… We posted the flyer they gave us on our Facebook page, and told her we would keep an eye out..the poor thing was just a mess….
We encouraged them to ask around the bus stop at 45th and the 1-5 exit…
Hard to believe someone would actually take another persons dog, but I guess anything is possible these days…
I’m so sorry to hear about your Nahla. I walk Greenlake daily and will keep an eye open.
This is so sad. Mary, I’ve seen your posters, and will keep an eye out for your Nahla.
Please let us know if you get her back.
Mary, I am so sorry to hear that this has happened to you. Will you please keep us updated. I know there are a lot of good people looking for Nahla and we will keep looking. Is she microchipped by chance?
