Last week, alert reader Michelle notified us of the impending closure of Julia’s Bakery (not to be confused with Julia’s Restaurant which is still alive and well). We haven’t been able to get the inside scoop (the former bakery manager declined to be interviewed and phone calls to Julia’s owner have not yet been returned), but thought Wallyhood readers would want to know that they should not stop by the bakery in hopes of coffee or yummy baked goodness.
Please keep us up to date on the whys and wherefores of the bakery closing. That bakery has been there a long time – before it was part of Julia’s.
I remember when it was “The Store Next Door.”
I have eaten many delicious cookies there. I remember when they had a job posted and I didn’t get it and felt badly about it. I recall raisin oatmeal cookies yum yum.. and cakes which looked so beautiful that no one would want to cut them. I remember samples of tasty scones. Farewell Julias Bakery… I am sure the employees will be baking merrily in another site.
There’s a sign painted on the window that says they’re reopening in October (can’t recall the day).
I think the sign said they’re re-opening on Oct. 6th, ‘with old favorites and new treats’!!!
